NLP – The Experience
Daryll Scott has managed something startling to me – in a strong clear voice, he has developed a description of the New Code NLP patterning that he has worked diligently to master
John Grinder, Co-creator of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
Creator of New Code NLP – Bonny Doon, California, Fall, 2007
Hi, I’m Daryll. I’m the NLP trainer and I’m committed to providing you with an exceptional experience when you join us on the Certified NLP Practitioner course at Noggin.
You may be asking ‘why study NLP?’
- Have you ever wondered what makes the difference between a top performer and an average performer? It’s clear that they are doing something differently – would you like to learn the patterns of genius?
- Would you like to enhance your performance in every area of your life? What would you change first?
- Our human nervous system is the most complex and magnificent thing this planet has ever seen, but we are never shown how to use it – you have not been given a ‘users manual’ – would you like one?
There is one reason above all others for you to choose this NLP Practitioner course: I promise that you will know precisely how to use your NLP techniques after the course, and you will feel confident in doing so.
Before I was a trainer I spent many years wondering how people could have such a wonderful experience on an NLP course, and then go back to familiar contexts and forget everything they had discovered. It would seem that, in many cases, it requires an ‘intuitive leap’ to take the patterns and techniques as delivered on the training course and work out how they can be applied to your every-day life. Some NLP practitioners even seem cautious or wary about putting their NLP into practice.
On our NLP Practitioner Course in London you will cover all of the NLP patterns required for your certification, and we will take some time to explore application after the course, so the extraordinary personal outcomes can be immediately applied to all areas of your every-day life.
Rarely have I experienced such a short period of time as such a catalyst for so much change. I’m indebted to Daryll Scott for opening my senses to a whole new way of interpreting my world and for making an impact on it. It was simply awesome.

What is NLP?
NLP is a Modelling method that has been used to capture the difference between average performance and genius. Along the way this activity of modelling geniuses has left behind a trail of techniques; the footprints left in the snow. This big bag of techniques makes up the content of an NLP Practitioner Programme and includes methods for communicating effectively with yourself, communicating influentially with others and making changes to your performance. The application of NLP is limited only by your imagination. Here are some examples of what you will be able to do after the programme:
- Be aware of your own ‘state’ and performance
- Create a connection with other people quickly
- Read the body language responses of others
- Capture the full attention of other people
- Listen precisely and hear how people are thinking
- Ask questions that get to the bottom of things immediately
- Communicate in a way that is hypnotically engaging
- Shift conversations to gain agreement or eliminate conflict
- Become more influential in any interaction
- Put yourself into a high performance ‘state’ at any time
- Coach others out of problematic ‘states’ and behaviour
Since returning to the real world I feel that I have been living in a parallel universe or put another way, my body has been overtaken by aliens – nice friendly aliens though that are really calm and encouraging me to approach situations in a very different way, which is enabling me to achieve results that I would not have thought possible. Also, no matter what happens the calm feelings remain. It is truly amazing, although I am somewhat scared that I will wake up one morning and the old Me will be back.

Activities
The criterion for assessing competence at NLP Practitioner level is very simple: Can you do it?
Becoming a Practitioner of NLP is an attitude and a behavioural skill – as such I’m not concerned about whether you know all of the jargon, or how well you can talk about NLP, just whether or not you can do it.
You can’t learn to ride a bike from a PowerPoint presentation, or from talking about the theory of bike riding. To achieve NLP Practitioner status in just 8 days we need to create an immersive learning experience that is similar to the way we learn as children; do first, and when you can do it, then seek to understand.
Delivery Style
The delivery of this programme is a little different: Theoretical discussion may be avoided until after the active learning experience, you will not be provided with a running order for the 8 days and not all questions will be clearly answered at the time they are asked if an explicit answer will mess up the deeper experiential learning. (However – I promise to answer all of your questions by the end of day 8). When I first learnt NLP I found this delivery style a little frustrating. I’m not sure why – I don’t demand to know the detailed storyline of a film before I enter the cinema. To make this delivery style easier for you, I offer you this simple deal – if you playfully immerse yourself in the experience and pay close attention to what’s happening in the moment, I will make sure you get what you need from the 8 days.
Pre-Study for NLP Course
The pre-study material is a copy of my NLP book “Can We Start Again?” and a list of tasks.
Please manage your time and make sure that you read the entire book in advance of the course. The course is designed assuming that you have read this material, so a failure to get through it in time will leave you under-prepared for your learning experience.
NLP Assessment
Just to manage your expectations; there is an assessment process to achieve certification on the last day. Typically all participants pass (although you may need to do it a couple of times to demonstrate competence). In the event that you do not achieve practitioner level during the programme you will be provided with a ‘certificate in NLP’ and I will personally set up tasks that provide you with the opportunity to complete the certification for practitioner status over the following weeks. All 8 days must be completed in full to attain Certified Practitioner status.
NLP Course Timings
For the convenience of participants traveling to join us on the programme, we start a little late on the first day of each 4-day week, and finish a little early on the last day of each week. The exact times are as follows:
