Change and the Organisation
Do you ever feel people are thinking "another initiative, another new slogan, another buy-in session, what is it this time?" or "I wonder what this is really about?"
When a change takes place in your organisation it's amazing what people pay attention to.
Organisations will carefully structure change messages, and the individuals will assess the change on what they experience - the behaviour of their line manager or the corridor conversations around the water cooler for example.
The organisation is under the misconception that it can control how the change is received with formal and explicit information; the perceptions of the individuals will instead be influenced by the informal communication within the organisation. This invites two questions:
- How can you create change messages that people will pay more attention to?
- How can you positively influence the informal communication within the organisation?

Logistics
- This session can be run as a 180-minute 'nugget' or as a one-day training course
- We like to use two facilitators for the 'nugget' version of this session - optimum number of attendees is 12 the maximum is 24
- For an optimal training environment we prefer a theatre style room layout with plenty of room for participants to move around
- Equipment requirements are a flip chart (necessity) and a projector/screen (optional)
