Creativity & Innovation
Do you work in a creative role and want to enhance your competitive edge? Are you facing challenges that require creative solutions? Have you found that yesterday's rules do not apply to tomorrow and you need fresh ideas and perspectives now?
For creative people: If you are in a role that requires you to be consistently creative have probably developed the ability to generate new ideas on a regular basis... but have you noticed that some days are easier than others? Sometimes, brilliant ideas come to you easily and effortlessly in a 'flash' or with an 'ah-ha' ...and other times it may feel more like wading through treacle. By discovering techniques that will access your most creative state of mind, you can become more consistent in your creativity; more flashes of genius, more 'EUREKA' moments.
For marketers and leaders: What happened yesterday tells us nothing about tomorrow, but as human beings we have a tendency to hold on to old methods and practices. Let us show you how to challenge well-established thinking and discover new possibilities.
We cover four areas under this topic:
- Thinking differently: We all know what "Thinking outside of the box" means - but few of us know what the box is... Our logical thought processes are linguistic; we think in words. Consequently the rules of our language create 'the box' and cause a fight between our creative 'right brain' and our deductive 'left brain'. When you can recognize this happening, it's easy to avoid it.
- Increasing creative capacity: Creativity is a 'state of mind' - you can feel it when you are 'in the zone'. Using the latest applied neurological techniques from the field of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, we will show you how to access a highly creative 'state of mind' wherever and whenever you want.
- The power of metaphor: Metaphor is the most engaging way of communicating an idea - we all use metaphor in our informal conversations. We will show you how to create well-formed (isomorphic) metaphors that are psychologically engaging and compelling to your audience.
- Creating collaborative conditions: For many people collaborative working with creative ideas can be emotive and sometimes turns into a battle of wills. You can learn techniques that 'grease the wheels' of creative collaboration, encouraging and maintaining contribution from everyone involved, and provide feedback on ideas without defensive reactions.
