Coaching Performance and Managing Feedback

New Book - Feedback or Criticism?

Coaching makes up approximately half of our corporate activity, and we provide certification and supervision to coaches. We consistently effect dramatic changes to behaviour and effectiveness.

Some time ago we realised that we had a lot of 'tricks up our sleeve' that could be hugely valuable to any line-manager, mentor, coach or leader in business - so we designed a workshop or coaching process that covers the most relevant and effective techniques.

If you are looking to create a culture of coaching within your organisation one thing that is sure to get in the way is the defensive reactions which are caused by negative perceptions and fuelled by 'how' the coaching is delivered. If someone is defending themselves against suggestions or feedback, they are taking little of value from it.

Our intention is to help you connect with the real intentions behind coaching and performance management and demonstrate that 'how' you coach carries more meaning and influence than 'what' you say

We provide a set of behavioural tools that will dramatically increase the efficiency and effectiveness of performance-related conversations and coaching activities.

Discover:

  • How to manage your own preconceptions or prejudices
  • How to set the scene effectively to negate defensive reactions
  • How to use specific questions to get to the bottom of current performance
  • Provide challenge and coach a process of discovering positive alternative approaches
  • How to maintain an agreeable and collaborative dynamic throughout the process

Testimonials

At Royal Holloway we are all really nice people. Unfortunately being nice doesn't necessarily mean we always get the job done and because we are nice we sometimes struggle to have those difficult conversations, especially in relation to performance. Noggin came in to spend some time with us and share some skills and experiences that demonstrated there are ways to have these discussions that can be positive for all concerned. The sessions were relaxed, fun and thought provoking with one participant commenting that it was the best course she had ever been on. The results? People are definitely having more difficult conversations and yet the funny thing is that we all still remain just as nice.
