The Human Element® (FIRO®) Workshop
So why would you want to come on The Human Element (FIRO®) Workshop?
In your organization, how much time do people spend working on their work, and how much time do they spend working on each other? What if they didn't? What percentage of my time do I spend managing defensive behaviours? What if members of interdependent teams trusted each other and were open in their communication?
What if you knew how to create the conditions where your own defensiveness and that of others disappeared? What value would that create personally and professionally?
The Human Element 5-day course is a group personal development workshop that releases human potential and productivity by building unparalleled levels of self-awareness, self-acceptance and self-accountability. It is an internationally recognized experience developed by Will Schutz, Phd over the course of 40 years and is run in 17 countries worldwide. It forms part of the leadership and personal development programmes in organizations such as NASA, Marks and Spencer Plc, Seagrams and HBOS.
The explicit outcomes of the session are:
- Create conditions that enhance self-esteem - the key driver in how we choose to behave
- Make your communication more genuine and engaging
- Reduce the effort required managing "drama"
- Build trusting, long-lasting relationships
- Dramatically increase flexibility of behaviour
- If you are a coach this course will enable you to use the suite of FIRO® Psychometric tools (element B, element F and element S).
The workshop is a safe yet challenging exploration of what drives us psychologically, in how we behave and feel towards ourselves and others. The initial part of the workshop focuses on the individual and then moves on to interpersonal applications such as leadership, coaching and personal impact.
Take 5 days to invest in yourself. Many people talk of their personal and professional life up until the Human Element workshop and then the one they enjoy beyond it.

Testimonials
I feel more focussed and determined than I can ever remember.
Craig Killick - Managing Director, The Escape Design
The Human Element® is a truly reflective course that allows you to step outside of yourself and look back at the person you have become. It allows you to strengthen the positives while unlearning the less helpful behavioural instincts that experience in life has attached to you. It is a week very well spent and an invaluable piece of personal development.
Richard Harris - Senior International Director, Microsoft Corp
This work is key for anyone in a senior management role or anyone whose job involves getting the best out of people.
Martine Snow - Managing Director, Become Coaching
I left The Human Element® with the sense that something big had just happened. I feel the experience has given me a real, applicable insight into group dynamics and the quality of my own behaviour. As a result, I have vastly improved the way I manage my professional group interactions with immediate reward - fascinating and very useful for any serious management personnel.
Hiran Ilangantileke - Managing Director, VAKorg Coaching
I'm finally at peace - and the best thing is that I didn't have to wait until I died! I'm only 35 and thanks to the Human Element®, I have a whole new, positive outlook on life, other people and myself.
Jo Harris - Managing Director, Plan B Marketing
After 25 years of working in a corporate environment – working for people, working with people and managing people – I still find I’m constantly looking for ways to improve my effectiveness in managing relationships. If you share that angst then The Human Element® is one of those experiences (I hesitate to label it simply a course) which will take your learning forward in a leap rather than a step
